Ed’s comeback on CKOL features the music of his native land, Scotland. He moved to Canada in the 60’s and formerly ran a Scottish pub called Deoch N Dorus in Scarborough, Ontario. Whether you prefer the high road or the low road, Ed’s music will put a Wee Bit of Scotland into your Monday morning.

Helen plays a mix of rock and roll oldies from the 60’s and 70’s guaranteed to suit CKOL listeners who really enjoy the time period.
Serendipity (with John Sillberg)
Monday 6 pm to 7 pm
Serendipity offers a mix of musical genres, primarily country, jazz and folk. John’s taste in music runs the gamut from classical to rock to blues to country. In previous incarnations, he has been a librarian, an educator, been involved in computer services, and acted as head of trades and apprenticeship at the community college level. Now, John enjoys living with Deb, Seymour and Percy on their 3 acres in the country and, of course, volunteering at CKOL.
Soul of Jazz (with Debora Windover)
Monday 8 pm to 9 pm
Deb is the former head of nutrition at Peterborough Civic Hospital. In the early 80’s, she moved from there into a teaching and administrative career at Sir Sandford Fleming College. After retirement, she has concentrated on transforming her property from wasteland to garden. She calls it “guerrilla gardening”. She enjoys jazz and classical music.

Trike Mike
Tuesday 4 pm to 6 pm
Trike Mike brings you a mixed bag during the first hour of his show including folk, R&B, and new country. The second hour is primarily dedicated to blues and contemporary local Canadian and American artists. Mike is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing and golf as well as adventuring about on his 3 wheeler ATV and motorcycle. He also plays a little harmonica.

The Road Les Travelled (with Les Smirle)

Les brings you favourite songs he's encountered from over the past several decades. Anything goes from folk, roots and blues to 50's doo-wop and 90's suburban angst with a bit of country for good measure. Formerly a mild-mannered paint chemist, Les is ready to express his inner Johnny Fever after 10 years of retirement.

Down Memory Lane with Frank
Thursday 4 pm to 7 pm
Down Memory Lane brings you great music from the 20's to the 50's including Dixieland Jazz, Big Band, Easy Listening and British favourites. Frank is a busy guy with his volunteer positions at the Cancer Society Hospice and Community Care. He also acts as Treasurer for the Prostate Cancer Society in Peterborough. When he's got some free time, he enjoys gardening and woodworking.
Ray on the Radio

Ray on the Radio features local indie bands, Motown, Rock, Folk, 60's, 70's and anything cool. Ray has become a local celebrity through his ongoing support of local music and musicians and has recently launched his own record label with musician Ken Tizzard, called Booth Street Records. The company is based in Campbellford.

Cliff's Country Classics (with Cliff Pennington)

Featuring real country music mostly from the 1940’s to 1960’s, Country Classics plays the greats of this golden era including George Morgan, Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, Lefty Frizzell, Merle Haggard and more. Each week, the first hour of the show is dedicated to a single country artist featuring his or her biography along with a wide selection (15 to 18 songs) of his or her music. Audrey was the first host to play bluegrass on the CKOL airwaves almost 20 years ago. She still loves sharing the best of bluegrass and her heartwarming gospel programs with station listeners.
Friday Night Oldies with John MacRae

John features a wide variety of tunes from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s with an emphasis on fun and lots of music. He enjoys playing the hits he listened to growing up and later played as a disc jockey in Guelph, Kitchener and Cambridge. John has more than 15 years of On Air experience as a music host, news anchor, reporter and show producer. He has been heard across Canada on the former CKO All-News Radio Network as well as in the United States through UPI and Europe on the BBC.
